Materials Aart
Aart van Bezooyen is a Dutch optimist and motivator for materials in design. He lives and works in Hamburg where he founded Material Stories in 2005 to bridge the gap between the materials industry and the world of design.
Material Stories is where he brings together his experience in design and passion for materials. Aart inspires and enables the best use of materials in order to make design more competitive, creative and sustainable.
Material Stories supports companies with materials research, concept design and strategic thinking (see services). Aart teaches young designers at the Minerva Academy for Fine Arts & Design (NL) and University of the Arts Bremen (DE). For the Core77 Design Network (USA) he reports about design related news and events from all over Europe.
In Short
Aart’s materials inspired career started with receiving a Master’s degree in Industrial Design from the Delft University of Technology (2002) for originating the Material Explorer, a materials selection support tool for product designers – nominated by the INDEX: organization.
