The materials industry is preparing itself for the upcoming 11th International Trade Fair for Materials Applications, Surface Technology and Product Engineering – in short, MATERIALICA 2008.
MATERIALICA 2008 (14-16 October, Munich) is one of the biggest, and most specialized, events for the materials industry. Apart from showcasing their latest trends and developments, it has become an important platform for collaborations. This year’s show will put a special focus on Composites, Metal Light, Surface, and Ceramics. They also published a magazine (photo) with background stories on materials trends and developments (you can download the pdf-extract here).
Just like the power of materials lies in its combinations – a lot of materials experts use the MATERIALICA to share ideas with other industries to consider new collaborations. For instance, ProductConcept is one of the exhibitors that focuses on innovation through collaboration, or as they say “Competence Together” (they have special offerings for companies here).
If you are a designer, or someone who is not afraid for tech talk and knows how to translate materials research into everyday user needs – then it’s definitely worth paying a visit to this year’s show in Munich.
